ZEBRA DOVE

If you look closely at quiet streets, open grassy fields, and parking lots, you may see some small Zebra Doves (Geopelia striata) waddling around. From afar they look plain bluish grey, but up close, you would be able to see the signature stripes on their neck. They are not usually shy and you may even be able to quietly approach to watch them up close.

Q: Can you tell us about the Zebra Dove?

(Zebra Doves can usually be seen with their pair while looking for food in the grass and weeds. Sometimes, on roads, Zebra Doves will also be looking for seeds and small insects.)
