10 THINGS YOU CAN DO TO APPRECIATE BATS

Every year on April 17th, International Bat Appreciation Day reminds us of why Bats matter. Here are ten things you can do to show your support and

care for the Bats, according to the US. Fish and Wildlife Service.

1 BE A BAT AMBASSADOR

As you learn more about Bats, you can share your knowledge with your friends and family.

2 REDUCE PESTICIDE USE

You can help feed a hungry Bat by reducing pesticide use in your lawn and garden.

3 NURTURE NATURAL BAT HABITATS

You can do this by leaving dead and decaying trees alone where they do not pose a threat.

4 PROTECT WATER QUALITY

Preserve streams and wetlands, which supply clean water and ideal feeding places for Bats.

5 INSTALL A BAT HOUSE

6 BE A CITIZEN SCIENTIST

Discover about local citizen science programs in your area and how you can contribute.

7 AVOID DISTURBING BATS

Stay away from caves and mines where Bats live.

If Bats fly into your house, contact authorities or specialists to carefully remove these animals without injuring them.

9 ASSIST BAT-FRIENDLY ORGS

Join an organization or look into how you can assist groups dedicated to Bat conservation.
