What about offering food?

I have a family member who usually does this tactic with unfamiliar Dogs, and the problem I saw was this: You can easily gain an unfamiliar Dog’s trust, but you might also establish a relationship where they demand food from you and may exhibit aggressive behavior in future interactions, simply to acquire food.
