WHAT CAUSES HYPOVOLEMIA?
Causes of hypovolemia include hemorrhage (which occurs due to surgery, trauma, neoplasia, or anticoagulant rodenticide ingestion, among others); fluid loss (from vomiting, diarrhea, or renal disease); severe burns; and third-space losses (such as edema and ascites).
There are at least four major classifications of shock that I was familiar with. But almost always, all forms of shock share a common concern: Not enough blood was flowing to the organs due to reduced blood pressure.
