CONSERVATION STATUS
The Nano Chameleon is a newly discovered species – more research is required to identify and assess their population in their natural habitat. However, scientists recommend that the Brookesia nana be put in the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species to help protect the species from extinction and its natural habitat from deforestation.
The habitat of the Nano Chameleon was recently placed under protection to help maintain the species population and prevent habitat loss. This is essential for the species and the scientists since very little is known about them. Preventing habitat loss can help prevent the extinction of the Nano Chameleon and other animals in the area for a healthy ecosystem.
