By ANDREA KATE ARO

For her 24th birthday, a Manila resident set up a “Cake Community Pantry” to celebrate the occasion with a word of caution: get according to your blood sugar level.

“As I celebrate my 24th Birthday, I feel so blessed to share my small token of appreciation to my fellow ka-barangay. Be the reason to make someone smile today,” Rikki Mae Pascua, owner of Mimey’s Pastries said in a Facebook post on Monday, May 3.

Pascua, who is part of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Brgy. 583 in Sampaloc, Manila, celebrated her birthday on Monday with neighbors with a cake community pantry.

Pascua also expressed her gratitude to all her customers who patronized her small business amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
