Just like Mike for Ravena

By JONAS TERRADO

Kiefer Ravena became the first Filipino athlete to sign an endorsement deal with the iconic Jordan Brand.

Jordan Brand made the announcement recently, making Ravena a rare inclusion into the brand popularized by the great Michael Jordan.

The NLEX Road Warriors star and Gilas Pilipinas veteran felt like he was on cloud nine shortly after the deal was made official.

“I still can’t believe that I’m part of the Jordan Brand Family,” said Ravena.

Ravena’s shoe contract came months after becoming a talk on social media when he sported one of only 150 pairs of the Jordan 4 Manila colorway during the brand’s store opening at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Looking back, it looked more like a hint that Ravena’s inclusion in the Jordan Brand was imminent.

The Jordan deal is considered not only for a non-NBA player but also for an Asian athlete.

Guo Ailun, the ace guard of the Chinese national team, was signed by the Jordan Brand in 2017.

Among the prominent NBA players who have shoe deals with Jordan are Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans and Russell Westbrook of the Washington Wizards.
