By ANALOU DE VERA

The country is set to start its nationwide coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination for children aged 12 to 17 on Nov. 5.

Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire confirmed this to reporters Wednesday, Oct. 27, through a viber message. “Yes, we are confirming,” she said.

Vergeire made the confirmation after vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. made the announcement during a television interview on Wednesday.

“All regions will be represented. It will be parang pilot sa all regions...Wala na tayong sequential (This won’t be sequential),” Galvez told CNN Philippines.

“We will open already [from] 12 to 17 all throughout the Philippines on Nov. 5. We will have a full rollout on Nov. 5,” he added.

Vergeire said that guidelines for the full rollout of pediatric vaccination are currently being drafted.
