Go for Gold-Air Force Aguilas rose from an opening-set stumble and downed Global Remit, 26-28, 25-22, 25-18, 25-19, for a spot in ŶĞā ƩłÖķŭ ŋĕ ŶĞā ”ĞĢķĢťťĢłā pÖŶĢŋłal Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Champions League for Men at the Aquamarine Recreational Center in Lipa City, Batangas.

The Aguilas, composed mostly of national team members, leaned on their sturdy net defense anchored on Kim Dayandante and Lloyd Josafat to inch closer to the crown.

Dayandante and Josafat posted four blocks each from the team’s 15 blocks to frustrate Global Remit’s hard-hitting spikers.

The win arranged Go for Gold a knockout championship duel with the winner between Team Dasma Monarchs and VNS Manileño Spikers, who were playing at press time.

The Aguilas also drew strength on its scorching offense spearheaded by John Vic De Guzman and Ruben Inaudito, who combined for 23 of the team’s 50 kills.

De Guzman led with 16 points while Josahat pumped in 15 points in three sets.

Inaudito and Kim Malabunga contributed 10 points each.
