COVID cases still rising in PH

NCR remains ‘very high risk’ despite declining growth rate – OCTA

By ELLALYN DE VERA-RUIZ

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases are increasing all over the country, although the growth rate in Metro Manila continues to slow down. OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David revealed this as he cited data from the Department of Health (DOH) showing, among others, Baguio City, Cebu City, Lapulapu City, and Angeles City with single-day record highs in new cases on Jan. 17.

“As the Omicron pandemic slows down in the NCR [National Capital Region], the wave is still accelerating in other parts of the country,” David said in a tweet on Tuesday, Jan. 18.
