Myanmar faces Timor-Leste

Regional power Myanmar faces Timor Leste today in one of two matches highlighting the start of Group B action in the 12th Asean Football Federation Women’s Championship at the Biñan Stadium in Laguna.

The Burmese, who were bronze medalists in the 2019 edition of the tournament in Chonburi, Thailand and in the last 31st Vietnam Southeast Asian Games two months ago, battle the Timorese at 7 p.m.

Next-door neighbors Laos and Cambodia play in the other match at 4 p.m. in the premier women’s Southeast Asian soccer competition organized and hosted for the first time by the Philippine Football Federation and supported by the Philippine Sports Commission.

Defending champion Vietnam won’t play until Thursday as it kicks off its title-retention drive against Cambodia also at the Binan Stadium, which also hosted most of the women’s matches of the 30th SEA Games three years ago.
