Cop arrested for molesting live-in partner’s daughter

BACOLOD CITY - A policeman in Negros Occidental is facing rape charges for allegedly molesting the 12-year-old daughter of his live-in partner in Cadiz City on Tuesday.

Police Capt. Karena Onio, head of the Provincial Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD), said the criminal complaint was already filed against the suspect, who is a member of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) in the city.

Onio said the incident happened while the victim was sleeping in her room.

Onio said the suspect reportedly entered the victim’s room and allegedly molested her.

The victim managed to shout for help, which resulted in the arrest of the suspect.

According to the victim’s aunt, the suspect and the victim’s mother have been together for three years now.

The suspect is detained at Cadiz City Police Station.

The HPG has yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.
