Nationwide COVID vaxx for kids to start Nov. 5

The country is set to start its nationwide coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination nationwide for children aged 12 to 17 on Nov. 5, government officials confirmed yesterday.

Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire made the confirmation after Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez Jr. made the announcement during a television interview.

“All regions will be represented. It will be parang pilot sa all regions…Wala na tayong sequential,” said Galvez in an interview with CNN Philippines.

“We will open already [from] 12 to 17 all throughout the Philippines on Nov. 5. We will have a full rollout on Nov. 5,” he added.

Vergeire said that guidelines for the full rollout of pediatric vaccination are currently being dra ed.
