FALCON HUNTED BuCor offers 100K reward for NBP escapee’s arrest

By JEFFREY DAMICOG

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has offered a ₱100,000 reward to anyone who can give information that would lead to the arrest of the third convict who escaped from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City last Monday.

Drakilou Y. Falcon, 34, who had been convicted of robbery with homicide, a native of Libasgua, San Miguel, Surigao del Sur, bolted jail along with two other prisoners.

“P100,000 reward will be given to anyone who can provide information on the location of PDL (Person Deprived of Liberty) Falcon who is considered armed and dangerous,” reads the announcement posted by the BuCor Monday night.

The two other escapees – Arwin V. Bio and Pacificico V. Adlawan – had been killed when they fought it out with BuCor personnel and Muntinlupa City policemen, BuCor Deputy Director General Gabriel P. Chaclag said.

Chaclag said that BuCor, with the assistance of the Muntinlupa City policemen, will pursue the manhunt for Falcon.

“The safety of the public is of paramount concern and BuCor authorities will not stop until the last escapee is accounted for in order to ensure that the escapee will not be able to inflict harm again,” he stressed.

4 ESCAPEES?

Meanwhile, Chaclag said there may be four, not three PDLS, who actually escaped from the NBP since one prisoner remained missing and could not be located within the facility as of noon yesterday, Jan. 18.

Chaclag identified the missing PDL as Chris Candas Ablas who had been convicted of robbery with homicide and sentenced to life imprisonment without parole.

He said: “Ablas has been missing up to present with possibility as the 4th and unidentified escapee who was involved in the prison escape incident yesterday on 17 Jan. 2022.”

“Maximum Security Compound is still placed on lockdown status as of this time while recovery efforts are still ongoing,” he said.

Justice Secretary Menardo I. Guevarra directed the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to probe the escape of the PDLs and the NBP’s Jan. 2 riot that resulted in the deaths of three PDLs and injuries to 14 others.
