Unmoved, unbothered

Paolo Contis is hoping fans would give them a chance to prove their worth as “Eat Bulaga” hosts.

The actor took over hosting duties of the long-running noontime show Monday, along with Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar, Alexa Miro, as with Cassy and Mavy Legaspi.

They were panned. Paolo is braving the storm, maintaining they actually “expected” the sort of feedback.

He is not the only one unaffected by the bashing.

According to Paolo, everyone – the hosts, production staff and management – were quite happy with the outcome.

“Masaya at very hopeful ang atmosphere sa studio,” he insisted.

But then he pleaded, “I just hope people can give us and the show a chance.”

“Ang goal lang naman namin is magtrabaho at magpasaya ng tao,” he added.

“Wala kaming gustong apakan na tao.”

Paolo also made clear despite speculation that they didn’t ask TAPE Inc. for the job.

“We were just called to work, to continue the show...”

He added, “Bilang kami yung kinuha ng TAPE, responsibilidad namin na gawin yung 100 percent namin.”

Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey De Leon disengaged with TAPE Inc on May 31.

Their co-hosts, Ryan Agoncillo, Wally Bayola, Maine Mendoza, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Jose Manalo and Paolo Ballesteros, followed suit.

Tito recently made clear their intention to fight for the show’s title insisting it is theirs as creators.
