Kim Chiu talks blood

Achi.

That’s how Kim Chiu refers to Microsoft Hygienic Products VP Aileen Choi-go with whom she recently sealed an endorsement deal.

The veteran actress is the new brand ambassador of Sisters Sanitary Napkins and Pantyliners.

Achi is Chinese term of endearment for older sister, which is how Kim considers Ms. Aileen.

“We’re both Chinese, so we understand each other perfectly,” Kim said during the media launch at a Quezon City hotel May 31.

Ms. Aileen said of Kim: “She’s a good actress, a great host, a fine businesswoman and a generous sister to her siblings. Bagay siyang endorser ng Sisters.”

“Magalaw ako, I love to dance. I feel secure with their adhesives that prevent leaking or shifting. The pads are so absorbent and durable.”

One of the advocacies of the company is reaching out to young people through nationwide school tours.

Kim says she wants to address all the young girls who are experiencing puberty.

She recalled that she was 12, in grade 6, when she had her first menstruation.

“Pinagtawanan ako ng classmates ko. I was not aware na nagkaroon pala ako. Two weeks akong hindi pumasok. I didn’t know how to handle it.”

“I want to explain to young girls that they have no reason to be afraid as menstruation is part of their transition to being a woman.”

When the pain gets unbearable, she turns to binge-eating chocolate.

Kim has been in show business 17 years.

She’s now 34 and still swamped with jobs for which she’s quite thankful.

She’s top billing three new drama series, one of which is “Linlang,” opposite JM De Guzman, Maricel Soriano.
