Earthly Delights

Adhering to the principles of sustainability, event stylist Jannette Garbes designed a fresh and elegant setup that made use of upcycled and environment-friendly decorations, as well as easily-sourced materials. For the verdant centerpiece, Garbes used pots and planters of mixed herbs from her own garden, such as rosemary, parsley, peppermint, lavender, fortune plant and pennywort. For fragrance, fresh moss and local camia flowers were added and strewn amongst antique candle holders and antique bricks.

The earth-friendly theme extended to Garbe’s use of natural products like wood for the tableware, such as wooden plates paired with wooden bamboo cutlery, accented by pure cotton linen table napkins and handmade crochet placemats. Rattan chairs, courtesy of Stan Event Rentals, gave the setup a relaxed vibe, while glass and bronze lanterns provided a tranquil glow.
