SPECIAL DREAM THEMES

Blooms Event Styling transports us back in time with a glitzy setup that pays homage to the excesses of the Roaring Twenties, immortalized in the pages of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel, The Great Gatsby. Event stylists Allen Uy and JP de Jesus, the design duo behind Blooms, created elaborate backdrops that feature bold art deco patterns in gold, reminiscent of glamorous, illicit parties at a speakeasy during the flapper era. Massive, glittering chandeliers suspended from above the setting serve as both light and ceiling treatment, along with bolts of emerald green fabric.

The rich emerald hues extend to the plush velvet chairs, which are paired with a mirrored, art deco-style table. Bouquets of blush and white roses, tulips and Gypsophilas in glass and onyx vases make up the centerpiece, along with glass and gold candleholders, adding a touch of decadence. The elegant dinnerware consists of gilded flower-shaped dishes in green and white, paired with gold cutlery and champagne silk table napkins.

A Regency Romance

Adeluge of Bridgerton-themed requests have been bombarding wedding professionals as of late, sparked by the hit Netflix series based on Julia Quinn’s historical romance novels. Joining in the fray, event stylist Badang Rueda gave his own creative spin via a regal garden setup heavily imbued with design elements characteristic of the Regency era. For the backdrop, Rueda used an ornate, Victorianstyle gate painted in stripped white and gold to give it an antique feel. Towering glass vases filled with bouquets of pink and white roses flank the mock gate, along with rectangular topiaries.

Covered in stark white tablecloth, the principal table is laden with a multitude of silver and glass bowls and vases filled with pink and white roses and Gypsophilas, as well as English sponge biscuits tied with champagne ribbons. Tapered candles on gold candelabras and tea lights in amber candle holders serve as mood lighting.

For the final flourish, the wedding cake is served along with an assortment of English pastries and sweets on silver trays, reminiscent of a classic afternoon tea. Designed by The Caking Giant, the cake is a triple layered confection lathered with cream, berries and rows of English sponge biscuits or Savoiardis. A cake topper in the form of a mini vase filled with white Gypsophilas rounds out the design.
